What makes the FISH WINCH so different from other electric fishing reel drives?
The FISH WINCH packs incredible power into a small, lightweight, quiet, and inexpensive package.
They are stronger, smaller, lighter, quieter, and less expensive than
any other electric fishing reel
that generates as much power for anywhere near the price (
see Comparison Chart). On top of that it's
difficult to even hear a
FISH WINCH after it's been attached to most reels.  Each FISH WINCH can
also be used with a variety of reels by simply changing the mounting bracket.  We also offer the
industry's longest warranty.  We challenge you to find anything comparable for twice the price.

How can you sell the FISH WINCH at such an inexpensive price?
Our goal when we started was to make the FISH WINCH the least expensive electric fishing reel
available.  Although unconventional, we do this by selling at wholesale directly to the fisherman.  This
eliminates two (2) price increases - no distributor or dealer profits built into the price.  Also helping to
keep the price low, is using one cost effective design that works great with a variety of different reels.
There's more, but we'll leave it at that for now.

What makes you different from other electric fishing reel manufacturers?
First, we offer the industry's longest warranty.  We also disclose as much or more information about
our electric reels than anyone.  Examples of this are the motor's power (torque), weight, & amp draw
(
see Comparison Chart).  Very few manufacturers of electric fishing reels disclose this information.

What kind of power switch does the FISH WINCH come with?
The FISH WINCH uses a large push-button power switch.  The button housing has a built-in lever
(button lock) that can be pushed or pulled over the power button making it a continuous-on switch.

How do I attach the FISH WINCH to my reel?
Installation of the FISH WINCH is quick and easy (3-4 minutes).  First, remove the handle from your
reel.  Also remove the screws located at 5:00 & 7:00 (most reels) found under the star drag.  Thread
the driveshaft of the
FISH WINCH directly into your reel (most reels) and replace the screws removed
earlier with the screws provided.  This design provides uninhibited access to your drag system.

What type of drive system does the FISH WINCH utilize?
The FISH WINCH uses a very quiet geared drive system. Our gears are steel (not plastic) and our
driveshaft is 316 stainless steel.

Is the FISH WINCH waterproof?
It's not 100% waterproof but it's extremely water resistant and very washable with a water hose.

What kind of fish can you bring in with the FISH WINCH?
Folks in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast use them for grouper, snapper, tilefish, amberjack, and other
bottom dwellers.  The
FISH WINCH is used in the Northeast for cod, pollock, and haddock while folks
in the Northwest target halibut, cod, pollock, and lingcod.  The
FISH WINCH is also popular as an
electric trolling reel for king mackeral, dolphin (mahi, dorado), and wahoo.

How do you ship the FISH WINCH?
We provide $11.00 shipping to all 50 States & U.S. Territories/Commonwealths (Guam, Palau, Puerto
Rico, US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Marshall Islands, & Micronesia)
.  Shipping takes 2-3 days
for all 50 States and some US Territories.  We ship internationally to most countries.  Please visit our
shipping page for international shipping costs.

What is meant my "maximum torque"?
Maximum torque is the maximum amount of torque (power) the FISH WINCH is able to generate at
any given time.

What type of materials is the FISH WINCH made from?
Our motor housing is made from aluminum and steel.  Our geared drive system uses steel gears and
the entire exterior is encased with a rubberized coating while our driveshafts, mounting brackets, and
screws are 304 stainless steel.

What kind of power cord comes with the FISH WINCH?
The FISH WINCH comes standard with a 10' (ten feet) power cord with heavy-duty alligator clips.
Custom length power cords are available in addition to battery terminal rings.

What power source can I use with the FISH WINCH electric fishing reel?
Our motors are 12V (DC) like most other electric fishing reels.  A 12 volt car or boat battery is a good
choice, however we use 12V (400 amp) portable jump starters (jump box). Some people like
lawnmower batteries due to size, weight, and cost.  (No battery chargers!)

What is the AMP draw of the FISH WINCH?
No Load: 1.5-2.0, Normal Fishing: 10-14, & Stall: 36.
